Chaplaincy

Mission Statement

The Chaplaincy Program was established to provide a method of comfort, encouragement, and assistance, as best we can, to our fellow workplace employees and their immediate family members at no cost.

Purpose

To demonstrate Godly integrity, honesty, accountability, and responsibility as Chaplaincy members while we administer and support the membership through the Chaplaincy Program in the International Union—UAW.

Chaplains will:

  • Maintain confidentiality—according to the law
  • Create an atmosphere of confidence in the individual, the community, membership and their families
  • Present the Chaplaincy Program in the best possible light for the welfare of all

Chaplains volunteer their time and service. These are not paid positions. Many of the Chaplains are ordained and certified in Chaplaincy.

Chaplaincy Conferences are held annually at the Walter & Mae Ruether Education Center, Black Lake, in Onaway, Michigan. The Conference continuously improve year after year, and the number of attendees is ever increasing.
