UAW-FORD Honors and Celebrates National Rosie the Riveter Day

Real "Rosies" were in attendance at the National Program Center for the Arsenal of Democracy Hall and Rosie the Riveter Hall dedication

March 21, 2019 was National Rosie-the-Riveter Day and people in the plants and at UAW-FORD National Program Center in Detroit celebrated the event with a celebration and dedication of the ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY AND ROSIE THE RIVETER HALL at the National Program Center. Women who worked in the factories during World War II as well as members of the Tuskegee Airmen where honored. Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of World War II, representing the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II, many of whom produced munitions and war supplies. These heroic and hard-working women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who joined the military. #rosie #wecandoit #womenshistorymonth
